At Kid Explorer Club, we're in search of Aquatic Expedition Leaders to spearhead thrilling aquatic adventures for our campers. As an Aquatic Expedition Leader, you'll not only instruct swim classes but also ignite a passion for water safety and exploration in our young adventurers. 


Position Details: 

  • Age Group: 3-12 years old 
  • Activities: Blowing bubbles, floating, swim strokes, kicking, jumping into the pool, recreational free swim 


Schedule: 

  • In-season: Late June through mid-August, Monday – Friday (arrival and departure times vary by location) 
  • Pre-season: Early June, select weekends for training and site preparation 
  • Compensation: $12 - $16 / hour 


Responsibilities: 

Leading Aquatic Expeditions 

  • Ensure the safety of all participants in the swim program, fostering an environment of excitement and learning 
  • Teach small groups of campers in pre-written instructional swim curriculum, emphasizing water safety and skill mastery 
  • Deliver timely and precise swim progress reports to parents, documenting each camper's achievements and areas for growth 


Promoting Safety & Well-being 

  • Implement rigorous safety protocols and emergency procedures, ensuring the welfare of campers and staff at all times 
  • Actively engage in safety trainings and continuously pursue personal growth in swim instruction 


Nurturing Physical, Social & Emotional Safety 

  • Support campers in their physical, social, and emotional development through engaging activities and positive reinforcement 
  • Cultivate individualized swim plans for campers, fostering their confidence and competence in the water 


Representing Kid Explorer Club 

  • Exemplify the Kid Explorer Club ethos daily, cultivating positive connections with families and facility partners 
  • Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of our camp facility and community 


Being an Active Team Member 

  • Demonstrate reliability and adaptability, consistently demonstrating commitment to campers and colleagues 
  • Embrace challenges with a forward-thinking mindset, seeking avenues for innovation and improvement 


Requirements: 

  • Minimum age requirement: 16 years old with at least 2 years of high school completed, or equivalent professional experience 
  • Proficiency in swimming and ability to engage in aquatic activities for extended durations 
  • Physical aptitude to interact with small children and participate in outdoor endeavors 
  • Willingness to acquire First Aid & CPR Certification by May 30, 2024
